Hierarchical Conflict Management
نویسنده
چکیده
Two distinct concerns seem apparent in conflict management strategies, one reflecting real-time decision-making and the other constrained deliberation. This paper attempts to provide more detail concerning our experiments in this area and provide a more unified model of conflict resolution as the management of resources in constrained environments. This paper is structured in the following manner. First, we describe the scope of the problems which interest us. We then describe our approaches to address these problems. Finally, we describe the implementation of our research and our goal of developing mechanisms applicable to resolving conflicting constraints in a hierarchy of decision makers. Introduction We have been examining conflict resolution (1) in real-time forwardchaining systems at the rule level and (2) conflict management with respect to the hypotheses proposed by interacting agents. While these two areas initially seem disparate, they both consider choosing between multiple alternatives based upon constraints. Further, the more information added to either system, the better the methods should be to perform. This paper considers, at a macro level, the questions: (1) what concepts are common to these two From: AAAI Technical Report WS-94-04. Compilation copyright © 1994, AAAI (www.aaai.org). Hierarchical Group Compromise Ranking Methodology Based on Euclidean–Hausdorff Distance Measure Under Uncertainty: An Application to Facility Location Selection Problem
Proposing a hierarchical group compromise method can be regarded as a one of major multi-attributes decision-making tool that can be introduced to rank the possible alternatives among conflict criteria. Decision makers’ (DMs’) judgments are considered as imprecise or fuzzy in complex and hesitant situations. In the group decision making, an aggregation of DMs’ judgments and fuzzy group compromi...
متن کاملWorkplace Incivility and Conflict Management Styles: Predicting Job Performance, Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intent
The purpose of this study was to examine the relations among conflict management styles and target and instigator incivility and job performance, organizational commitment, and turnover intent. Data from 270 employees suggested that experiencing and instigating uncivil behavior occurred frequently. Using an integrative conflict management style was positively associated with job performance and...
متن کاملA Policy Based Management Architecture for Large Scale Active Communication Systems
An initial design for a policy based management system combining conventional hierarchical control and significant local autonomy is described. A critical part of the design is a scheme of partial guarantees for policy distribution and execution. This scheme renders explicit the non-determinism that is implicit in policy based control schemes that include conflict resolution, and to some extent...
متن کاملConflict Resolution for Air Traffic Management: A Study in Multiagent Hybrid Systems
Air Traffic Management (ATM) of the future allows for the possibility of free flight, in which aircraft choose their own optimal routes, altitudes, and velocities. The safe resolution of trajectory conflicts between aircraft is necessary to the success of such a distributed control system. In this paper, we present a method to synthesize provably safe conflict resolution maneuvers. The method m...
